You taste a great wine. You love that Pinot or Shiraz, and after those two glasses and a long evening chatting it up you can’t for the life you remember the winery or brand. Dang, what do you do? Beverages and food are so memorable because of the taste experiences they give us, but when you have limited marketing dollars how do you remind your consumer of that wonderful experience?
Yalumba tags along with you
This small winery out of South Australia has come up with a brilliant, simple idea that caught my attention. Yalumba created a small, discrete tag on the edge of the label with a perf and low tack adhesive behind it. You simply pull the tag and it breaks off. You can then stick in your wallet, place it on the fridge, on your iPhone or anywhere you want to find it later. So simple yet it fulfills the needs of the consumer and the wine company, because the folks behind the brand thought about how people interact with it.
I hope this concept takes off. It’s such a simple way for food and beverage brands to say “remember me for later”. And, in this world of overwhelming marketing driven by just about every media, this is low tech, simple and, well, consumer friendly.
